Hello everyone. Alberta TrailNet Society is sending this message and request on behalf of Alberta Forestry and Parks.

As you all know, the wildfire situation in the province is still dire. Government is currently closing popular trail areas along the eastern slopes (e.g. NE Ghost PLUZ, NW and south of Nordegg) to ensure public safety and to support wildfire colleagues and not hinder their fire suppression operations.

We request that you share the following wildfire information for both closures and updates. Trail users and campers need to “know before you go” right now and be prepared to evacuate. Whether it’s by social media or your email distribution lists, please forward this information to your members and communities.
